Q1. How can the price be that low for a Laptop?
Ans. There are many things in a Laptop that effect the price like: Casing, Keyboard, LCD, Processor, Storage, Drives, Main Board, RAM, Accessories and Software. We have carefully designed the whole product and selected our component suppliers wisely against bulk orders to make sure the total cost is very low. There are some other tips which we would not disclose at this stage. Little higher prices could easily be managed but pulling it below 100$ was the challenging task which we have successfully done.

Q2. Is it worth the price?
Ans. Every one likes his own baby. But our Laptop is really special and as the users increases very rapidly, it will be obvious. Anyway as a rough idea, you can say its worth three times its price. And the free software we are bringing with it will increase its worth many times more.

Q3. Is 99$ the retail price?
Ans. Yes and No. To some category of customers and in some countries/events it is the retail price. But in some countries the retail is little higher because of excessive taxation and transportation cost or local distribution and sales channel over head.

Q4. What is WinCE and why you have used it?
Ans. WinCE is a light version of Microsoft Windows. Also called Windows CE or Embedded Windows. Because it requires less resources then Windows XP etc, it is ideally suited to mobile devices because of more battery backup time and other advantages. We have used it because firstly it helped us in the reducing the laptop cost and secondly it offers some other advantages like more battery time, higher security, more efficient and better cost/benefit ratio.

Q5. Honestly tell what are the negative aspects of this Laptop?
Ans. The only thing negative is that this laptop is not suitable if some one wants to use some very heavy-duty software with very very heavy data like some big engineering design projects or bulky video editors etc. For some people lack of Wifi in this model is also a negative but the good news is that the next model already has built-in Wifi.

Q6. Only 4GB Storage as SD Card! Is this not a negative point?
Ans. No, because luckily WinCE based software’s does not take much space. In the WinCE world its more then enough for all your software needs. And for excessive user data like audio, images, videos etc, you can manage to keep it on separate SD Cards for better management and security or use SD cards of higher capacity.

Q7. Can WindowsXP software be install/run on this laptop?
Ans. No, only software designed for the WinCE platform be installed in this Laptop. Most of the popular usage software already have WinCE equivalents like Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Skype, WinRAR, Messenger, Internet Explorer, PDF etc. There are lot of third-party software also for WinCE and JoinTech has also developed and developing a lot of WinCE software.

Q8. I have lots of important personal documents and data. What about that?
Ans. Don’t worry. Simply copy that data in this laptop and you can open and edit it without any conversion. Our software is compatible with Windows XP data files of most of the generally used software.

Q9. How can I transfer my old data to this laptop?
Ans. There are three ways. First is that you connect your Laptop directly with a PC with a USB cable and your Laptop will act as a UDisk drive. Second is that you copy your data from a PC on a UDisk and plug in this laptop. And the third is that you use a SD-Card UDisk adopter to copy data from PC to your SD Card.

Q10. Which processor have been used in JPro JL7100?
Ans. Samsung S3C Chipset with ARM 9 Core.

Q11. Is the WinCE Licensed?
Ans. Yes. We supply the License number with each unit.

Q12. Can the WinCE be upgraded to newer version?
Ans. Yes. The user can update the OS later when we release the new version of the OS.

Q13. Can it run Linux OS on it?
Ans. Yes it can run embedded Linux, but we are not supplying it yet. We are happy with WinCE until we have an equally big demand for Linux.

Q15. Will the price be reduced further in future?
Ans. Yes for sure. Already we have recently made a break through in reducing the cost further and we are just waiting for the right time to offer it. We do not want to disturb our existing production pipe-line because of changes in design which we have already done in our lab. The real surprises are ahead.
